AWANA Clubs (Wednesdays during school year, 6:30-8:00 pm) have a high-energy Game Time, achievement-oriented Handbook (scripture memory) Time, and Council time with a Bible message for children from 3 yrs. through 6th grade. The AWANA program provides structure and a clear path to follow as they grow in the Lord. Our goal at ICBC is to find a way to help each child succeed. Children memorize scripture at their own pace that is challenging for them along with making new friends and having fun at the same time!
AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from the Bible verse 2 Timothy 2:15:
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth”(NIV)
We have three AWANA clubs at ICBC:
CUBBIES - 3 – 4 year old Preschoolers have lots of fun as they are introduced to God’s word. This club lays the foundation for making scripture a part of their lives through parent-child activities.
SPARKS - K-2nd graders use friendship building along with the gospel message to teach children about Jesus through games and introduces small peer-group interaction.
T & T (Truth & Training) - 3rd – 6th graders use discipleship and evangelism to lead children into a deeper relationship with God along with teaching them to reach out to others through mission projects.
Note: While there is a cost for participating in AWANA to cover the cost of awards, prizes and uniforms, as with any children’s ministry program, expense should not limit participation. We have scholarships available (see Commander Scott for more details). |
