Meet Your Teacher: Andrew White

Registration is now open for Equipping Classes

On Sunday, Pastor Jake introduced Equipping Classes, which will begin on September 13th at 9:30 AM. He presented a powerful vision for the discipleship ministry of Indian Creek Baptist Church in his sermon from Ephesians 4:1–16. We are excited about what God has in store for our church.

If you are deliberating between the class offerings published last week, it may help you to learn about each teacher. In this series of posts, you will get an introduction to each person tasked with leading an Equipping Class.

This teacher is someone you probably recognize: our Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Worship.

Andrew White

white family 2

Andrew grew up in Belize, Florida, and Mississippi (he was an MK and a PK). He met his wife Carmen during college and they dated long distance until the day they married in January 2010. Andrew and Carmen are the proud parents of a very cute, funny, and energetic four year old boy named Wesley James.

Andrew's favorite book of the Bible is Psalms and his favorite non-biblical book is Look and Live. He enjoys reading, watching movies, listening to music, and obsessing over his favorite sports teams: Orlando City Soccer Club, the Chicago Cubs, and the Tampa Bay Rays. He is also a committed coffee snob and taco enthusiast.

This fall, Andrew will be teaching a Core Study called The Gospel, Salvation, and Other Religions. The class will focus on the exclusivity of Christ, which contradicts the values and ideals upheld by our postmodern and pluralistic world. During the week, his class will watch lessons from Dr. Todd Miles from Western Seminary, and discuss what they learned together on Sunday mornings. The class will be held in room 103, just to the left of the auditorium in the main building.
