To Die for Us
Scripture: Hebrews 2:14–2:18
Last week, Pastor Jake began to answer the question, "Why did the Word become flesh?" In last week's sermon, we learned the Word became flesh to live for us. In this sermon, we learn that the Word became flesh to die for us.
Four things Jesus set out to do when He came to die for us:
1. To Annihilate the Devil (v. 14)
2. To Emancipate the Slaves (v. 15)
3. To Propitiate the Father (vv. 16–17)
4. To Invigorate the Weary (v. 18)
