Children's Ministry Philosophy
At Indian Creek Baptist Church, we believe that parents are the primary way that children see God's love put on display. We know that there is no such thing as a perfect parent, we all have to trust in the Lord for our strength and wisdom when it comes to raising our kids. So one of our goals is to equip you with tools that will help teach your kids scripture, prayer, and worship. Always remember that allowing your children to see you reading your Bible, praying, and worshiping is best. The mission of the Children’s Ministry at Indian Creek Baptist Church is to partner with parents to show the unconditional love of Jesus Christ to every child while teaching them godly values.
We desire to accomplish the purpose of our church in our Children’s ministry in a fun & safe environment where we invite children into the kingdom of God, help them commit to the lordship of Jesus Christ, teach them to bear one another’s burdens, and celebrate God’s goodness.
All of our volunteers working with children and students have submitted to and passed a nationwide background check. Please arrive a few minutes before each program to ensure time to complete our comprehensive, safety-focused, check-in process.
Children's Ministry Programs
Nursery
Our little ones are so important to us. At ICBC, our nursery care is not just about providing babysitting while parents are in worship service and bible study. We begin the process of teaching them about Jesus even before they can walk and talk. Our loving nursery volunteers share music and age-appropriate stories that introduce children to who Jesus is and what He has done. We offer nursery care from ages birth to 3 years old during Sunday morning services as well as Wednesday activities.
Sunday School
Our Sunday School classes meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30. They are custom designed for each age level and are taught by caring teachers ready to show your children the love of God through Bible stories, classroom interactions and crafts which stimulate the child’s desire to learn more about Jesus and His love for them. Our children learn from The Gospel Project for Kids curriculum, which helps them learn not just isolated Bible stories, but the whole story of what God has done for us in Jesus Christ.
Children's Church
Children's Church is offered for children ages 3-6 years old. This program is designed to prepare children to join the main worship service. It is a special time created for their learning level so their parent(s) or guardian(s) can be taught the Word without distraction. We reinforce the lesson from that morning’s Sunday School lesson through story time and a related activity or games. Plus, the kids enjoy a small snack.
AWANA Clubs
AWANA Clubs meet on Wednesdays during school year from 6:30-7:45 PM. During that time, the kids from 3 years through 6th grade enjoy a high-energy game time, work through a Scripture memory handbook, and learn a Bible message. The AWANA program provides structure and a clear path to follow as children grow in the Lord. Our goal at ICBC is to find a way to help each child succeed. Children memorize scripture at their own pace that is challenging for them. They also enjoy making new friends and having fun at the same time! Preteen Ministry
Every summer, our preteens go to Camp Copass for a week. During camp, students who have completed third–sixth grades get the opportunity to hear God's Word, to worship together, and to have tons of fun!
