Peter's denial of Christ teaches us about ourselves and about the mercy and grace of Jesus. We learn from Peter's life that our zeal, our knowledge, nor our courage can keep us from denying Christ. Rather, it is God's grace that holds us in Him. We learn that we cannot follow Jesus until He dies for us.
